Five Day Freezer Fun
There are five days until I leave for my trip. Five days of only eating what is left in my fridge, freezer and pantry. In order to save money for my trip, money will have to take an upper hand to food.
No fresh produce and a couple bags of instant noodles. It can be done, but it won't feel great.
Lunch today was an omelette (gouda, cilantro, corn, chili pepper, oregano) and baked salmon (lemon juice, pepper). Mayo, mustard and dill sauce (lemon juice, dill pickles, cilantro) on the side.

So Much Beef
I'm proud to say I only ate out once all weekend. The only time was fast food for lunch at the wedding. The rest of my meals were BBQ leftovers and freezer food.
I had ground beef for too many meals, but it had to be done. I'd like to say I'll be off beef for a bit, but I still have about twelve patties left.
Thankfully, the leftovers included vegetables.

Nothing New
Always dependable and always satisfying.
Steak and eggs.
Did a quick dry rub: oregano and cinnamon.
So my goal to eat $6 per meal wasn't too successful last week. Breakfast and lunch won, but the dinners were bad examples of will power. My excuse is that we had beautiful patio beers weather and I believe I would have regretted it if I did not live out the day like it was meant to be spent.
Rain all week. I should be able to reach my goal...
Make Do Lunch
More leftovers from the BBQ lingering in the work kitchen. Chris fired up the grill and rounded out the big bowl of beef in to patties. We all flocked to the grilled chucks.
What you see here is a mound of beef, pickles, mixed greens, ketchup, mayo, relish and mustard.
No one can tell you what tastes good to you.

BBQ Leftovers
We bought too much for our work BBQ, so I took home some of the leftovers and made dinner.
The ground beef was for the slider patties, instead, I cooked it with the leftover lentils from the veggie patties. Globbed in sweet chili sauce and I am just fiiine.
And what you see there is half a plate of tater tots. You be jealous.

Better
This week, I realized I don't need to eat shit to save money.
I bought a large pack of chicken thighs to put in my freezer and decided to spend most of the money on fresh vegetables.
It's panfried kale, bacon, onion and garlic as a side all week.
Lemon and rosemary chicken for this week's lunches.
A hard boiled egg for breakfast.
Today was a fatty moment. Baked salmon topped with mayo, siracha, horse radish, dill, lemon juice and onion.
And still able to come under $5 per meal.
Cheap Eating, Bad Feeling
I had to buy a new laptop recently and that put a few planned purchases in the back burner. I still want to redo my flooring, so changes need to be made to my fridge.
My goal was to have $5 meals, so all last week, I survived off of discount T&T food and instant noodles.
I haven't eaten like that in a while, and I could feel it. Cheapness comes with a price.
